A affiliate program is an essential marketing tool for every online business. It is one of the most effective, and least expensive ways to achieve higher targeted traffic, and increase sales.

Your affiliate program = More Traffic, More Sales and Greater Search Engine Optimization.

Affiliate marketing is an essential sales tool, because you pay per performance. Instead of paying for advertising, merchants utilizing an affiliate program pay commissions only when the promotion results in an actual sale.

More Traffic, More Sales

When your affiliates promote your links, your traffic will increase, and more visitors interested in your products will click through to your website. Increased traffic from multiple sources generates higher SEO. Higher SEO equates to increased sales opportunities.

Increased Search Engine Optimization
By building your network of affiliates, more and more affiliates will place your web site links on their web pages. This results in an increased number of links pointing to your web site, improving your SEO.

Different methods provide the best possible linking methods, enabling the affiliate link to your site without any additional parameters in the URL.

Boost your Online Presence
Your products and services will be displayed, advertised, and reviewed on hundreds of your affiliates’ pages. This will positively impact your online presence.

Myth #1: If you haven’t been onsite …u are a loser

Uncle: ”Tum 3 saal se IT company mein kaam kar rahe ho na?”
Me: “Haan uncle ……bas …..”
Uncle: ”Tum videsh nahi gaye?”
Me: “Nahi uncle project mein requirement nahi hai onsite kaa”
Uncle: ”Lekin woh deepak ko toh maanna padegaa…. vo chote sheher se hai…..bade college se nahi hai …fir bhi usne jamke mehnat ki aur usse company ne USA bheja!”

Aaaha! thats the problem. People think that the smarty pants are sent on
site while the loser ones are the people left behind in India. So the
assumption is that if you haven’t been on site then you don’t work hard nor
you have any sincerity and… ok that’s enough for now.

Myth #2:If you are not in the biggies..u are a loser

Auntyji: ”Beta, kaunsa company?”… …”Kabhi suna nahi”…..”Kaha hai ye?”
Auntyji: ”Tumko Info*** mein nahi mila kya?” (in short: “tum second grade gadha lagte ho”)

Then I have to make efforts to tell them how I actually work in a much
niche technology. In case the opposite person is technologically sane then
I give him some product development ‘funda’ (arrogance).

Myth #3: You can fix any computer..and calculator and may be clocks too

Most of the computer engineers around must have at least once gone to a
friend’s place only to fix his /her comp. The task can be from installing a
software (next..next. . finish) to fixing a computer which gives electric
shocks when its metal areas are touched.

Myth #4: You have lots of money

Once I met up with my friends from school …from various fields. I just
mentioned that it is such a pain to go to office nowadays and said that I
wanted to buy a car.
Friend1: ”what problem do u have man .. u are an IT waala”
Friend2: ”Tu toh Honda CRV le saktaa hai”
Me: ”CRV!! aabey CRV kyaa mere pass VCR lene ka paisa nahi hai”

Even after 5 minutes of convincing them weren’t getting convinced.

Myth #5: Coding means sitting in front of the computer During my college days , my classmate had an encounter with a guy from mechanical dept:

Mech guy: ”Your Computer engineering is a big nautanki…. four years You learn the same grey dabba… and all you ppl do is sit nicely in front Of that dabba and punch the keys”

Well I don’t completely disagree

Myth #6:

One more thing which oldies say : ” Now you work in such a big company ,
you are settled , you should marry now !! ” OMG this salary is not enough
for one poor soul.. how to handle two ???

Myth #7:

In Diwali…u get questions like……”Are you gonna get a bonus this
Diwali…..? ?” And when we reply in the negative…. .they seem so
surprised… !!!!!!!
Myth #8: A common issue that I have seen:

When I tell anybody that I work with C**, many times I get a reply “My
son/daughter/ relative Mr/Ms XXX also works with C**. You must be knowing
him/her” and if I answer in the negative, they feel disappointed (they
think…..may b nobody wants to knows me).

How to explain to them that there are around thousands of employees in my
company, and I cannot know everybody in my ODC, forget about knowing
everybody in the company. L LoLzzzzzzzzzzzzz. ….

Add ons:

#How many times do you face this question
“What does your company make…???”

Very logical question but…..How do you answer this one?

NOTE : Copied and Posted from a email i got.

My collegue and I had heated discussion on what to have as a OS in our organisation and as such we being developers of LAMP based technologies I discussed in favour of Linux and my collegue was in favour of Windows as his primary OS because he developed AMP applications using WAMP stack.

Our argument led to the level of why Windows development apps should not run in Linux. I started googling and was lucky enough to have a good information from Linux Magazine which said :

The Mono project has brought support for Microsoft’s .NET framework (which they are using to try to kill Java and dominate the programming space) to Linux. As a result, we are now seeing more free software applications written in various .NET languages like C#. How do we reconcile using and integrating proprietary platforms with pushing freedom from vendor lock-in? How do we make sure that we don’t shoot ourselves in the foot, long term?

http://www.linux-mag.com/cache/7685/1.html

anybody interested adding some more points??

A technology based on the principal of “Optimum Use” of “Available Computing Power”.

Current generation P-IV, Duo Core and other such powerful processors based machines have enough computing power to serve many users concurrently in a general business environment using word processors, spreadsheets, emails, internet, accounting software, ERP etc. If you see the CPU Usage history in the performance meter, it normally lies at 1-4% level. This clearly indicates that there is enough power which can be optimally utilized for more users.

Thus, in a Thin Client Solution we setup a machine with good processing power & RAM as a SERVER. All software programs are loaded on the SERVER. The NODES (without any hard disk and with minimal processing power) are connected together through a standard RJ45 Networking. The Nodes use the computing power of the server and thus allows you to run high end applications with phenomenal performance on low end and even old hardware.

Benefits of Thin Client Solutions

COST:

No Hard Disk or any other media required.

Low Hardware configuration requirement (Anything from PI/32 MB RAM onwards).

Never require an upgrade on the nodes.

Reduced Power consumption on Nodes.

CONVENIENCE & MANAGEABILITY:

No Disk Crashes.

No Virus Problems to be fought on each desktop.

Practically Zero Down times.

Easy Software Maintenance.

Low Maintenance as no moving parts left.

CONTROL:

Easy and better Administration.

Centralized Data Control and accumulation.

Software licensing and control.

User Rights, policy deployment as per the Domain Controller setting up.

FLEXIBILITY:

User can switch machines without any problem.

Setting up a new user is a breeze. Less than 10 minutes of installation time.

Can support local printer, CD Drives and USB devices (No sound and webcam).

SCALABILITY:

You can use thin client to expand as you grow.

No limit on no of machines which can be configured in Thin Client.

Can make Server Clusters to expand into multiple server solution.

PERFORMANCE:

All machines work at the performance of the Server.

Low Network traffic.

Applications like Tally work better than even the normal client-server.

RELIABILITY:

Based on Standard RDP protocol and not on any proprietary protocol

Lesson Number One
A crow was sitting on a tree, doing nothing all day. A small rabbit saw the crow, and asked him,
“Can I also sit like you and do nothing all day long?” The crow answered: “Sure, why not.”
So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the crow, and rested. All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped
on the rabbit and ate it.

Management Lesson:
To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up.

Lesson Number Two
A turkey was chatting with a bull. “I would love to be able to get to the top of that
tree,” sighed the turkey, “but I haven’t got the energy. “Well, why don’t you nibble on some of my
droppings?” replied the bull. “They’re packed with nutrients.”

The turkey pecked at a lump of dung and found that it actually gave him enough strength to reach the
first branch of the tree. The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch.
Finally after a fortnight, there he was proudly perched at the top of the tree. Soon he was promptly
spotted by a farmer, who shot the turkey out of the tree.

Management Lesson:
Bullshit might get you to the top, but it won’t keep you there.

Lesson Number Three
When the body was first made, all the parts wanted to be Boss. The brain said, “I should be Boss
because I control the whole body’s responses and functions.”

The feet said, “We should be Boss as we carry the brain about and get him to where he wants to go.”
The hands said, “We should be the Boss because we do all the work and earn all the money.” And so it went
on and on with the heart, the lungs and the eyes until finally the asshole spoke up.

All the parts laughed at the idea of the asshole being the Boss. So the asshole went on
strike, blocked itself up and refused to work. Within a short time the eyes became crossed, the
hands clenched, the feet twitched, the heart and lungs began to panic and the brain fevered.
Eventually they all decided that the asshole should be the Boss, so the motion was passed.

All the other parts did all the work while the Boss just sat and passed out the shit!

Management Lesson:
You don’t need brains to be Boss, any asshole will do!

Lesson Number Four
A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold, the bird froze and fell to the ground
in a large field. While it was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on it. As the frozen
bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, it began to realize how warm it was. The dung was actually
thawing him out!

He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy. A passing cat heard he bird singing
and came to investigate. Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung,
and promptly dug him out and ate him!
